The challenge here was to create a vision that considers the fabric of the existing building and potential retrofit.

The design when through a series of iterations. On the ground floor a new extension provides an open plan living space that is flexible for the needs of a modern day family of four and connects the inside to the outside.
​
The roof space incorporates additional bedspace as well as new workspace - a response to the 'new norm'. Roof lights have been proposed which consider the formal composition of the existing elevations.
